Renaming multiple files

This is a query related to Windows Explorer.

I would like to know how can I rename or append or prefix a text
string to a file name for a lot of files? I have over 2,000 files
which I have to prefix the text string "Tender" to them, then append
"Issue 01".

Is there a way I could batch process this function, rather than
repeatively go through each one? I remember I could do this in the old
DOS format, but how can I do this with Windows Explorer? Is there any
3rd Party software that could help me do this?

Thanks in advance...

Sorry, but we can't help you here.

The subject of the comp.windows.x.apps newsgroup is applications that use the X
network protocol to manage a windowed gui environment. As such, this newsgroup
does not have anything to do with Microsoft Windows except for discussing
implementations of X apps on that platform.

Your question has nothing to do with X apps or their supporting protocol. You
probably should ask in one of the comp.os.ms-windows.* newsgroups to get a
proper answer.

Sorry.
